The Radisson Blu Hotel in Frankfurt has called upon JOI-Design Interiors to create two trend and design suites, in collaboration with magazineWohnidee. One of the major elements to the design was the lighting solution for which JOI-Design Interiors chose a range of LEDVANCE modules, LED lamps and luminaires.
Top Frankfurt hotel, Radisson Blu, has created two stunning suites ‘Modern Serenity’ and ‘Classic Monochrome’ with JOI-Design Interiors. The two living worlds are each marked by highly individual design schemes but have a connecting thread: their homely atmosphere. The lighting plays a major part in creating the welcoming atmosphere, enhancing a feeling of well-being.
The lighting integrates very harmoniously into the interior design, since both lamps and luminaires, as well as the light itself, are used as design elements. While designer luminaires in the living and sleeping areas of the suites complement the high-quality interior design, Globe lamps from the LED Vintage 1906 Edition cast stylish light accents in the bathroom – installed as mirror lighting, the LED filament lamps with PenduLum Pro base are a real retro eye-catcher. Focus is clearly on the lighting effect with the LED spotlights from LEDVANCE, which were installed in the entrance area, bathroom, and kitchenette: the warm white accent lighting effectively draws attention to the modern interior. The cove lighting in the bedroom and living area, realised with flexible LED modules under the OSRAM brand, underscores the atmospheric ambiance in the suites with its pleasant, indirect light.

With their warm light colour of 3000K and a nominal wattage of just 6.5W, the swivel-mounted LED spotlights offer the ideal replacement for inefficient halogen recessed spotlights – the LED luminaires achieve up to 90 percent energy savings compared with conventional technology, with a lifetime of up to 50,000 hours (L70/B50). It was also possible to use the spotlights in the bathroom thanks to the availability of IP65 versions. This allowed a consistent design language to be achieved throughout the suites.
