Renewable energy training centre, Waxman Training Academy, has now been approved to offer courses under the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Training Support Scheme (TSS).

The great new initiative, set up by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC), will give candidates who already have heating and plumbing qualifications the chance to cross skill and learn a renewable heat technology, at a subsidised rate. By ensuring installers are given the opportunity to integrate these technologies (biomass, solar thermal and heat pump) into their portfolio, the renewables industry will be prepared for the anticipated installation rush when the domestic RHI is rolled out in Spring.

Ed Davey, DECC Energy Secretary sees the scheme as “the starting gun” for the domestic RHI, offering a voucher scheme to candidates that can be redeemed at training centres in order to gain nationally recognised qualifications at up to 75% off.

Waxman Training Academy can now accept vouchers (to a maximum of £500 inc. VAT) for heat pump and solar thermal courses covering up to 75% of training and assessment costs. Experienced plumbing and heating engineers can register for vouchers through the RHI training website (www.rhitraining.co.uk), where candidates have three months to undertake and complete the training of their choice.

To find out more about the RHI TSS and to apply for vouchers, go to www.rhitraining.co.uk and specify Waxman Training Academy as a preferred course provider. Visit www.wamantraining.co.uk to look at our facilities, see the RHI TSS courses we can offer and make an enquiry.
