Record highs show no sign of slow down

Recycling rates reached record highs in 2013 and show no signs of slowing down into the New Year according recycling bin manufacturer Leafield Environmental.

Topping the Leafield leader board in 2013, with sales up by 125%, is the Envirobin collection of versatile recycling bins, installed into private business, councils, schools and universities; typically driving up recycling rates by anything from 20% to 50% in just a few months while saving money for the organisation.

Leafield MD Phil Maddox said: “There has been a huge shift in focus on tactics to avoid waste to landfill which includes simpler waste segregation methods that lead to greater reuse of recovered ‘clean’ waste material. If businesses take these simple steps they will begin to save money and generate income to boost their bottom line.

“Sometimes it is as simple as placing two recycling bins next to one general waste (landfill) bin to embed the idea that there should be twice as much waste recycled than before.”
