When it came to planning the renovation of the existing Skechers shop, the architect selected resin bound surfacing in keeping with the sleek, contemporary shop design and fittings.  A 3mm bespoke Silver blend resin bound system was installed onto the existing concrete substrate both externally along the front of the shop entrance and internally for the ground and first floor of the premises, situated in this busy shopping district of the country’s capital city.

As well as being highly decorative and durable, the resin bound system is comfortable underfoot – essential for a shoe shop – and easy to maintain. The surfacing was also used on the steps to the first floor for continuity.

To extend the seamless contemporary look, the architect also requested that the resin bound surfacing was used for the skirting on the base of the interior walls. To achieve this, the product was applied to panels which were then affixed to the wall once the floor had been completed.  To complete the look, product panels were also used for the base of the mirrored pillars in the shop.  The finishing touch was the accessorised resin bound seating area complete with Bonsai tree.

The result is a beautiful seamless, hard wearing, contemporary surface that can withstand heavy foot traffic and meet the needs of this busy retail outlet.

The 100m2 installation was completed to the satisfaction of the shop owner and architect who are delighted with the result and is proving to be a great reference project for Addagrip in South Korea.
