Traditional elegance from Marley Alutec
When Stonehurst Estates needed a quality rainwater system for its newly converted luxury apartments, it looked towards Marley Alutec, who provided products with the desired look and performance.
Located in the picturesque village of Heron’s Ghyll, East Sussex, Temple Grove dates back to around 1700 and had been functioning as a school up until 2004. The stone built property has now been converted into 14 luxury and unique dwellings, comprising smaller, one bedroom flats, to larger, three storey family homes, overlooking 30 acres of lush gardens.
“The Temple Grove development offers traditional beauty, with stunning, countryside surroundings. Therefore it was pivotal that all components of the property, including the rainwater systems, reflected these core aesthetic values, in addition to providing a sound overall performance,” comments Simon Briggs of Stonehurst Estates.
Marley Alutec’s Traditional 5x4 Moulded Ogee profile with rectangular downpipe was selected to replace the older cast iron gutters, and replicate the original styling. Specified in Heritage Black, a textured finish that emulates cast iron, the system blends in seamlessly with the rest of the property.
Alutec’s aluminium rainwater systems ensure long lasting performance, with a maintenance free life, providing far lower lifetime costs than the more traditional cast iron systems. Alutec systems are extremely durable, with a life expectancy of 50 years or more, whilst the polyester powder coating ensures a hardwearing, fade resistant finish, which will last the lifetime of the product.
Simon Briggs concludes: “The aluminium gutter system provided by Marley Alutec is an all round performer. Not only does it blend seamlessly into the quintessentially English detailing of Temple Grove, but it also represents sound performance qualities, which ensures a hassle and maintenance free life through the natural benefits aluminium offers.”
