Wentworth School install solar PV system through Joju Solar
Joju Solar have helped Wentworth Primary School reduce its carbon footprint and save on its electricity bills by installing a jazzy new solar PV system.
As one of Hackney’s OFSTED judged “Outstanding” schools, Wentworth Nursery School in Cassland Road already has lots to be proud of but this installation is another feather in its cap.
The installation was carried out by Joju Solar, a local company and previous winner of Hackney Environmental Business of the Year. The company which has installed some of the country’s biggest solar installations is keen to stay close to its local roots and to work with Hackney schools, businesses and residents to help them go solar.
"We really love working with local schools. Not only do we help them to reduce their carbon footprints but we also home that the children are able to learn a bit about some of the exciting solutions to climate change" Joe Michaels, Commercial Director for Joju Solar.
James Page, Project Manager for Joju Solar said : “It is great that we can help reduce a schools energy bills, saving them money. This was a particularly exciting project and was one of the first installations using this type of ‘glass-glass’ solar panels. We wanted something that looked visually stunning and fitted in with the look of the school – it really worked.”
The panels were fitted onto a shelter where the children play and designed to allow light through without changing the look of the structure. They will save the school money on their electricity bills and give them a Clean Energy Cashback payment from the Government every year for the next 25 years.
Carolyn Maples, Headmistress of Wentworth Nursery School & Children's Centre said: "Joju Solar have been a great company to work with! They were able to use their cutting edge knowledge and expertise with attention to our specific circumstances and needs. We are confident that we have ended up with the best possible system at the best possible price and all our dealings with Joju Solar have been really positive.....and we are demanding customers!"
