New Recticel booklet helps break the code

With buildings being responsible for around 50 per cent of the UK's energy consumption and carbon emissions, Recticel Insulation Products has issued a new publication which aims to reduce this figure by providing a better way to meet the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH).

The CSH rates and certifies the CO2 emission performance of new homes and lays out a timeline for reducing emissions from buildings, based on current Part L Building Regulations. The new Recticel booklet contains a combination of technical information and practical insulation design solutions that can help common construction methods meet the various levels of the Code.

Designs for floors, walls and ceilings are all included, along with numerous different construction types. These include beam and block plus concrete slab and screed floors, timber frame and masonry walls and warm flat metal and timber decks roofs, as well as warm pitched and hybrid warm pitched roofs, Recticel is Europe’s largest producer of PIR insulation materials and the booklet simplifies the specification process by highlighting the most appropriate Recticel products for use in these situations. Those products offer thermal conductivities as low as 0.022 W/mK, plus zero ozone depletion potential and a low global warming potential, which help minimise their own impact on the environment.

These products are supported by the wide range of technical support available from Recticel, which includes the guidance of the company’s s own experienced in-house CSH Assessor.
