New year - new challenge! The CARE Construction Challenge

Saturday, 15 January 2011

Join in the third CARE Construction Challenge, for professionals from the construction industry and supply chain.

Whether you are involved with the design, build, operation or refurbishment of the built environment, or supply to the industry, this is the event for you! You will complete this one day multi-activity challenge as part of a team of four people where individually you will cover a marathon distance on foot, bike and water.

There will also be a few mystery challenges along the way. For the super fit and competitive participants, there will be a 1 hour bonus stage if you finish the marathon distance by a set time. The day will culminate in a well earned celebratory meal and prize giving at a nearby venue.

Test your physical and mental ability, as well as your practical skills, whilst also raising valuable funds for some of the most important and pioneering Emergency Shelter & Reconstruction projects in the world.

For example, your £3000 could fund the deployment and assessment carried out by one of CARE’s Emergency Shelter Advisers used in emergencies like the recent earthquakes in Haiti. Or the funds that you raise could support some of CARE’s other projects including erecting temporary shelter for families whose homes and lives have been devastated by war or training communities in improved construction techniques. Pictured below right, CARE provided emergency shelter following the recent flooding in Pakistan.

We will ensure that you are supported at every stage of your training and fundraising prior to the event, as well as on the day with experienced staff on hand to help.
