Knauf launches rainscreen cladding systems CPD
Knauf Insulation has recently launched an ‘Introduction to Rainscreen Cadding Systems’ CPD module. It explains the core issues surrounding rainscreen cladding systems, compares the suitability of insulation materials and looks at how the choice of insulation affects the design of the system, as well as thermal and fire performance.
Mounted on to the external walls of a building, lightweight rainscreen cladding systems can be used to give new or existing buildings an attractive and effective weatherproof finish. Installation of the correct insulation product behind the rainscreen cladding panels can provide systems with excellent thermal, acoustic and fire resistant performance.
Especially relevant to building designers and specifiers, the CPD module explains the principles of rainscreen cladding systems and the regulations that apply to them. Crucially, it makes specifiers aware of the different types of insulation and their performance characteristics and provides them with an understanding of the importance of fire resistance in rainscreen cladding systems.
Dave Khan, Technical Marketing Manager from Knauf Insulation, said: “Through the ‘Introduction to Rainscreen Cladding Systems’ CPD module, Knauf Insulation unreservedly offers the entire industry a chance to benefit from their significant expertise and knowledge.”
The “Introduction to Rainscreen Cladding Systems” CPD module can be completed by attending a dedicated seminar or the module can be accessed online via Knauf Insulation’s CPD Academy, on completion of the online module, a CPD completion certificate can be generated.
