For many years door chains have provided visible additional security, allowing a conversation to take place through a part open door without giving complete access to visitors. ERA’s new Locking Door Chain offers an even greater level of security thanks to the introduction of a cylinder lock in the chain’s design.

This innovative product offers an ideal way to provide enhanced security for the elderly or people with mobility issues. In addition to the well-known benefits of a standard door chain, ERA’s new locking version allows for third party entry via the advanced locking feature. Developments to the traditional chain mean that friends, family and carers can now gain access to the property, without compromising the occupant’s security or peace of mind.

Once the door is unlocked and ajar, the visitor simply inserts the key into the lock to release the chain and open the door fully. And before closing on exiting, the chain can simply be clicked back into the lock position by inserting the chain end into the receiver. Perfect for those who require entry where the occupant has limited mobility.

The chain is very easy to fit to timber or PVCu doors and is clam packed with full installation instructions. Further benefits include a replaceable key cylinder, meaning the key and lock can be changed without replacing the whole unit. 

For multiple residencies, ERA also provide a master-keyed version with one key fitting a total of 10 locking door chains.
