Offsite: the benefits were clear for all to see!

Monday, 15 March 2010

The Mtech Consult and Galliford Try ‘Innovate Offsite’ building at Ecobuild demonstrated that combining appropriate Offsite techniques and systems delivers significant cost and performance improvements, making compliance with increasingly stringent environmental and performance criteria more certain.

Mtech - the UK’s leading Offsite consultancy - used its expertise to identify, source, develop and specify Offsite systems to maximise their cumulative benefits in areas such as the building’s environmental performance, build time and whole life costs.  As the construction contractor, Galliford Try integrated the Offsite products and methods in the build phase to deliver a superior finished building whilst reducing site duration, waste, noise and deliveries, plus improving site environmental and H&S compliance.

Visitors particularly valued the full technical tours, which explained the systems and their integration in detail, demonstrating that Offsite is not just about individual components - it’s a practical, efficient and effective construction method.

In completing the 70sqm building entirely used Offsite methods and systems, Mtech and Galliford Try drew on products and services from 15 specialist UK Offsite manufacturers.  These readily available Offsite options are helping architects, developers and contractors create more sustainable, cost effective buildings.
