Rotex can help cut water consumption by 50%

Rotex, one of the world leaders in heating and environmental systems, is to launch a new range of rainwater storage tanks, designed to work both inside and outside buildings.

The Rotex Variocistern, consists of a range of different sized tanks which can slot together to meet every type of design situation. Rainwater, collected in the 750 litre or 1,000 litre tanks from the roof of the building, is prefiltered and then connected to toilets and even wash basins. It is clean enough to be used for most household applications including the washing of clothes.

The tanks, which are light weight and easy to build and dismantle, are not affected by sunlight to prevent build up of algae and require little or no cleaning, even after many years of use.

Once installed Rotex believe that conventional drinking water used for every other type of application, can be reduced by 50% or more in the average household.
