Top cooking school choses Polysafe Ultima
Super tough Polysafe Ultima sheet vinyl safety flooring from commercial flooring specialist Polyflor Ltd has been installed throughout the food preparation and cooking areas at The Cooking School at Dean Clough, a 21-station state-of-the-art cooking school recently opened in Halifax.
Based in the town’s historic Dean Clough Mills, The Cooking School is the brainchild of Anita Cormac, executive director of the national Focus on Food Campaign, which already operates a fleet of mobile teaching classrooms – Cooking Buses – as part of the effort to teach children to cook and raise the profile of cooking and food education in primary and secondary schools.
Opened by celebrity chef James Martin, The Cooking School offers expert tuition to adults of all skill levels. Courses are held throughout the year with individuals tutored by specialists in their field, including some leading guest celebrities. All proceeds from the school go towards funding the Cooking Buses - which also feature sheet vinyl safety floorcoverings from the Polysafe collection.
“During the initial design concept, Polysafe Ultima was the clear flooring choice because of its enhanced slip resistance and proven use within busy kitchen areas” says Anita Cormac. “We have found that not only is the floor easy to clean and durable, but it complements the décor in our flagship, high specification kitchen. The school’s clean design is further highlighted by the use of Polyclad Plus PU, an ultra-hygienic sheet vinyl for walls and ceilings.”
Polysafe Ultima has been specially developed to give sustainable slip resistance in heavy-duty areas which are subjected to intense footfall and frequent risks of oil and grease spillages. Typically the product is installed into commercial kitchens, food preparation and processing areas.
