Photon Energy - British Small Business Champions
Photon Energy has been named by the Federation of Small Businesses as the "Most Promising New Business" of 2008. The company's directors attended the Federation's Gala Dinner and ceremony at Claridges in London on Friday 21st November, where they collected the award which was sponsored by AIMS Accountants.
Established in 2006, Photon Energy specialises in the installation of renewable energy systems - solar electric and solar water heating systems as well as small wind turbines. The company offers a complete turnkey service, from scoping and design, through to commissioning and long term maintenance. Photon has rapidly become one of the leading installers in the country and has bases in Reading, Swanley in Kent, and Huddersfield.
The company's clients include major construction companies such as Kier and Fitzpatrick, commercial housing developers, Housing Associations such as Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing, schools, FE Colleges and NHS Trusts.
The company is also accredited under the government's grant scheme and can access 50% grants for public sector organisations.
Photon Energy Director, Jonathan Bates said: "It is fantastic that we have won this award; we hope that we can continue to build our business over the coming years, despite the current gloom surrounding the economy."
Henry Ejdelbaum, Managing Director of AIMs Accountants and one of the panel of BSBC 2008 judges said: "The judges chose Photon Energy as the business idea is good and there is a market for the company's products and services. Photon was started in the right way based on its owners' knowledge and expertise and also with financial prudence. It also demonstrated that their plans for future growth are realistic."
